Carter Wells are specialists in the recruitment of architects, interior designers, landscape designers, builders, project managers and planning consultants for private individuals, embarking on design-led residential projects.

We find and hire best-fit design firms, consultants and builders for renovation projects.

We are a small team of experienced, personable and exceptional advisors. Each one of us has had 20+ years experience in the design and property industries. Our combined experience, in-depth knowledge and deep passion for our industry allows us to continually develop and perfect our offering and provide a much-needed niche and essential service.

We all work in-house and are totally aligned - our clients benefit from our hands-on, customised and personal service.

Alice Barrington-Wells / Founder BA Hons PGdip

Alice works closely with clients to plan, manage and build the best possible teams and consultants to undertake large, complex or overseas residential projects.

Alice set up Carter Wells in 2012, having specialised in Business Development & Marketing for Marston & Langinger, Pimlico Road in London. Whilst at M&L, Alice gained a Post Grad Diploma (University of the Arts, Chelsea) in Spatial Design and has a very clear understanding of what it’s like to be on both sides of a project: as a designer and as a client.

Alice has accumulated approximately 15 years in this niche, helping clients forge relationships with designers and builders with a primary objective to get projects off the ground successfully: both aesthetically and to an agreed budget.

Carter Wells has grown and evolved and now helps clients appoint multiple services & consultants to build a professional bespoke team with optimum clarity.

Alice divides her time between London and North Yorkshire (born and bred), where she lives with her husband and two daughters.

Nick Barrington-Wells / Partner BA Hons

Nick joined Carter Wells in 2018 to work independently with estate agents and search agents, helping integrate the Carter Wells service for private home buyers going through a property purchase.

Brought up between London and The Cotswolds, Nick’s contacts are far reaching; he brings with him an influential network from both the world of residential and hotel real estate, having headed up Marketing & Branding at leading hospitality brands such as Langham Hotels International, Grosvenor House, JW Marriott and Rocco Forte Hotels.
